It was Glen who exposed Taufik to the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Zen Goshu Goshin Jutsu and MUC.
Taufik, has had the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally in Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines and to conduct seminars in various locations in Indonesia.
Taufik, is a member of the CMAA Management Committee assisting in the development of students and fighters competing nationally and internationally. Taufik initially started training Pencak Silat "Perisai Diri" with Senior Instructor Bibit Waluyo for a period of two years. This was followed by another pencak silat style, "Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate (PSHT)", where he trained for another 4 years.
In 1994, he started training pencak silat Merpati Putih(MP) with Senior Instructor Muhammad Hasan and Senior Instructor Ardi for 7 years and was graded Balik II.
